Enabling Steam Overlay via hardware 3D rendering (Windows 10 64-bit) – Tropico

Steam Overlay and functional glitch-free hardware graphics!

Hardware mode

Tropico 1 has two 3D rendering modes.

On Windows 10, Steam Overlay does not function in software mode 3D rendering.

Hardware mode will enable the Overlay, but it will typically show glitched images.

DxWrapper

DxWrapper – [github.com]  is a .dll file designed to wrap DirectX files to fix compatibility issues in older games on Windows 10.

If you are experiencing glitches and inability to use Steam Overlay in Hardware 3D, DxWrapper may fix compatibility issues. To install, simply extract the contents of dxwrapper.zip into the folder where the game’s executable is (typically C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common). Big thank you to the people who’ve provided us with DxWrapper!
