German Campaign Final Chapter Guide – Blitzkrieg 2 Anthology

admin

This guide might help you if you are struggling with the final chapter of the German Campaign. This guide is useful if you hope to do all the optional missions. If you feel OK not to play all the optional missions, I refer you to the German Campaign Walkthrough – [steamcommunity.com]  by ★ Spaceflash ★. I play under very hard difficulty. So, things might be different if you play under other difficulties.

Street Sweeper

Mission time: 2m:21s

Reserves: 1

I begin this chapter by playing this rather relaxing mission. Call in one group of elite infantry at the following location:

Meanwhile, switch your troops to the defensive stance, and move all your tanks to the edge of the map. The enemy will attack you with rocket launchers soon. By doing so, you can (hopefully) reduce your units lost. After your troops land, also change them to the defensive stance, and attack the AA guns. You can move your flamethrower tanks toward the key point at the same time since their front armor is heavy enough to make it. Capture the key point, and you win the mission. That’s it.

Hunted Tiger

Mission time: 14m:7s

Reserves: 1

Notes: Enemy GAPS typically won’t destroy any Tigers. You can still use fighters if you want.

Turn and entrench your tanks at the beginning of the mission, as shown in the left figure. I move other tanks to the back of the Tigers to protect them (Actually, I don’t know if this helps). At the same time use your light tank inside the town to kill a group of AT troops in the location shown in the right figure.

After killing the AT troops, you should be able to set up mines (use shift to give multiple orders). This is the picture before the final attack. This will make the mission much easier.

Defeat the first wave of enemy attack, then move your Tigers toward the northeast. Destroy two enemy tanks on the road and two waves of Sherman tanks approaching from the east.

Meanwhile, move all your other tanks onto the hill and order them to defeat enemy troops in the following location.

Then, move your Tigers onto the hill and entrench them at the following location since four enemy Sherman tanks will attach soon. After that, move all your tanks downhill, and defeat several Sherman tanks and infantry there. Don’t get to close to the bridge yet since there are two Slugger tank hunters that might cause serious damage to your Tigers.

The next part is the most annoying part of this mission. When enemy GAPs retreat from the battlefield, call in a group of Tiger I tanks. Move one group of infantry and use the telescope to look to the other side of the river. Wait till snow weather when the sight is limited. Use one of your Tiger I to destroy enemy tank hunters. The enemy won’t attach back since they can’t see your tank.

After destroying the tank hunters, immediately move your tanks across the river and set up your defense. Be sure to hide your Tigers deep in the town since you lose the mission if the enemy destroys them. Destroy all enemies, and you win the mission. Note that the enemy will continue sending Sherman Tanks. You don’t need to destroy all waves of them to win.

Survival

Mission Time: 9m:3s

Reserves: 1

Note: Call in more tanks as needed. The enemy artillery might cause serious damage to our tanks.

I immediately use my rocket to destroy the enemy artillery battery in the center of the map as shown in the following figure.

After that, unload your troops and change to defensive stance. Attack-move them to the south to destroy two enemy AT guns. After you unload your troops, a Sherman tank should move into your sight, use your Panther to destroy it.

Then is the showtime of your Heavy AT SPG. The front armor could resist most attacks from the front. Use it to cover your other tanks. and move it all the way to the following location near the river shown in the right figure. Destroy a heavy AT SPG there.

Pause for a while and repair your tanks before attacking two heavy tanks near the bridge. Destroy them and set up your defense line near the river. You can put some mines there. The enemy will attack from the other side of the bridge soon.

Now it’s time to cross the bridge. Pay attention to a Pillbox, it’s pretty dangerous. After destroying it move to the other side of the river and you win the mission. Call in tanks as needed.

Steady Steps

Mission time: 3m:27s

Reserves: 1

Note: If your light tanks and middle tanks unlock the 4th ability the mission will be a lot easier.

Immediately use your rocket to destroy an enemy tank hunter and several buildings in the town.

Use your heavy guns’ ability to destroy four AT guns as shown in the following figures (top right of the left figure near the road, and center of the right figure). You can use your move your infantry into enemy sight to attract their artillery.

Storm your tanks into the town, capture the key point, and you win the mission. Remember to use the 4th ability of your tanks. Keep your tanks moving, do not stop. You don’t need to destroy enemies on the way. Call in more tanks as needed.

Gatekeeper

Mission time: 3m:21s

Reserves: 0

At the beginning of the mission, move all your heavy SPGs and tanks to the bridge on the east. Use your APG to transport two groups of infantry squad too. When your SPGs reach the bridge, destroy the enemy tank hunter on the other side of the bridge.

Across the river, use your SPGs to attack the enemy tank near the key point. Use your other tanks and infantry to attack enemy infantry. Pay attention to AT troops.

Be fast. Capture the key point before the enemy sends in reinforcement and you win the mission.

Steady Grip

Mission time: 17m:27s

Reserves: 6

Notes: I use all the reinforcement points in this mission. I don’t think I’m using a good strategy. I’ll update this guide if I find better strategies. If you follow this guide, I would recommend you save the game every two or three minutes.

Call in two groups of heavy AA guns immediately after the game starts (left figure). Move one of your given heavy AA guns north a little bit (right figure). There is a sniper on the hill. Entrench your AA guns.

Use your third reinforcement point to call in some light AA guns (or light tanks), kill the sniper.

Then, call in two groups of infantry and set up your defense. Move all the artillery crews into buildings near ally AA guns so you can use them once ally crews are killed.

In the top right figure maybe the trench should be moved back a little bit. Use your last reinforcement point to call in a group of light tanks. Be sure to use the telescope to have a better view. When the mission changes, start moving your AA guns to your defense line.

Defeat several waves of enemy attack and you win the mission. This part is easier said than done. I retry several times :(.

Heavy Hand

Mission time: 21m:54s

Reserves: 14

Notes: I’ll give two strategies here. The first one skips a lot of mission objects and you can win the mission easily. The second one is normal and you need more time to finish the mission. It is recommended that you unlock the second ability of your a*sault squad.

Strategy 1

In both strategies, you need to set up a defense line. Call in at least 3 groups of heavy AA guns and a group of infantry. For example you defense link can be as follow.

Meanwhile, start shooting toward the center of the map using your a*sault guns (top left figure). There are some long-range SPGs there. Call in more a*sault guns once you have enough defensive units. Use your trucks to guarantee supply. I would recommend at least 12 a*sault guns. Once you believe your firepower destroys all enemies at the center of the map, start shooting at artillery batteries in the top right and bottom left figures, and at tanks in the bottom right figure.

When the air supply is available, call in a group of elite infantry. Drop them as close to your key point as possible as they might return to base if the weather turns bad. Use their telescope to aid your a*sault guns. Once you eliminated enemy artillery batteries, deal with those mines on the road.

At the same time, use your rockets to destroy some dangerous enemies and the key point.

Once the road toward the enemy key point is clear, move your elite infantry toward the key point. There might be some enemy tanks on the way, destroy them using whatever ways you like. I simply launch a V2.

Capture the key point and you win the mission. Do not use all your elite infantry at once. The enemy GAPs might discover them. You might fail if the weather suddenly turns good.

Strategy 2

If you hope to finish all the objects, do exactly the same, but don’t go directly to capture the key point. Launch two V2 at the northwest of the map to destroy the enemy artillery batteries. Once you complete that mission, capture the key point at the center of the map and set up a defense line there. You will complete a secret mission and get a lot of rocket launchers. The remaining part of the game would be a lot easier. Since you have infinite supplies, use your a*sault guns to kill most enemies before you attack a location. Then attack using heavy tanks and a*sault squad.

Sum up

That’s it. You’ve finished the last chapter within two hours. Hope this guide can help you at least a little bit. Thanks for reading!
