Here are some tips that beginners may not be aware of.
Identify the ghost type
These items should be on hand when the game starts
1. Holy Fire
2. UV flashlight
3. Lighter

1. EMF (if necessary)

3. Lighter
These are the tasks you can do once you have entered the building. If you have completed the main quest, you will have some clues to the ghost.
1. Light up 3 candles
If the quest has been completed, the ghost could be Vampires, Demons, or Gallows
1.1 Use your UV flashlight. If you see a ghost, it’s a Vampire.
1.2 Get back to your friends if you can’t find the footprint.
Either high EMF (3 or higher) or high temperature = the ghost are Demons.
Either low EMF levels (>4 – or low temperatures (around 0,0 -), the ghost is Gallows.
Demons are also able to open doors and light candles. Gallows can’t. If you can tell the ghost type from candles and doors, you will look more professional than a ghost buster.
2. Turn on 5 lights
Once the quest is over, the ghost may be either Child (or Darkness)
2.1 Use your UV flashlight. If you find a footprint, the ghost represents Child. Otherwise, Darkness.
***At this point, Drowned is the only remaining option. You have two options, depending on what situation. Holy Fire should be kept with you if it is possible. These ghosts can only be defeated by holy fire. Importantly Jiangshi may try to attack your. You can immediately finish the first main quest by throwing Holy Fire towards Jiangshi. ***
Path 1 Brute force
3. Turn on 5 water taps
If the quest is over, the ghost is Drowned
4. All doors are wide open
If the quest has been completed, the ghost will be Poltergeist Otherwise, Jiangshi.
Path 2 Water taps + EMMF
3. Turn on 5 water taps
The ghost is Downed if the quest has been completed.
4. You can also check the EMF. If the signal cannot be greater than 3, the ghost may be Drowned (or Jiangshi). Otherwise, Poltergeist.
Ask your friends to check if the temperature drops below -5. If so, the ghost has been Drowned.
These tips may be of a*sistance to you
1. You can also throw the objects without being caught. If you aren’t sure of your aim, you can be caught. The ghost type can also be identified by simply letting the ghost hunt, and skipping the 3 TAB quests.
2. In insane mode, when the ghost begins hunting, drop your flashlight onto the floor and stand in its rays. Drop all other items aside from the item that can actually protect and crouch. If the ghost is causing you to drop an item, crouching and dropping it will cause it drop right in front. You can grab it easily and play insane mode.
3. Learn how to use holy and fire sal. They are inexpensive and they can illuminate in darkness. The holy salt can be used in conjunction with any ghosts. The Fire salt can work with all ghosts except the dark. You can use the Fire salt if you turn off 5 light bulbs but nothing happens.
4. You can use insane mode to leave a flashlight at the spot you are usually dragged into. It will help you navigate with your friends. You will receive one UV flashlight and one standard flashlight.
5. Sometimes, it may be more beneficial to let a friend complete a quest with free items than to purchase multiple identical items.
6. Not every side quest pays you well.
7. TAB quests may be necessary but are not essential. Waiting for voodoo/radio/board is time-consuming. Focus on the ritual. Randomly pick the answer from what you know and perform the ritual. A ritual step is a better way to find the answer to TAB questions.
