This guide explains how to install Pierre Taki’s Restoration patch for Judgment. It restores Hamura’s voice acting to the original actor.
Understanding the history behind the game’s production will help us understand why this patch exists.
Pierre Taki, a Japanese actor, was originally the one who played Kyohei. He is a key character in the game.
The game was first released in Japan in December 2018, and Pierre Taki, who was arrested only three months later for possession and drug use, was released in March 2019.
All employers and businesses of Taki began to eradicate his contributions, SEGA being no exception.
The game was immediately removed from store shelves and digital storefronts so that no one could buy it except the second-hand copy market.
In Japan, the game was released as Judge Eyes New Price Version in July 2019. The most significant change in that version was the replacement of Pierre Taki as Kyohei Hamura’s actor. Pierre Taki’s model was replaced by a generic character based on an actor. All voice lines were also redubbed in Japanese by Miou Tanaka (known for his generic “grunty” characters).
As you might expect, the western version of the game was released on the New Price Version, with Pierre Taki replaced.

Installation
These are the steps required to install the patch.
First, download Ryu Mod Manager – (requires 3.2.1 (or newer)):

Second, you will need the mod downloaded from the link. If you are using English text you can only download the main file. Otherwise, you can also grab additional files in your language.

Next, you’ll need the folder containing your game.
This can be done by right-clicking the file in your Steam Library and selecting Properties. Next, go into the Local Files tab and click the Browse Local Files option. The folder with the game will then open. Go to the “runtime/media” subfolder.
Copy the files from Ryu Mod Manager to the game directory. Run RyuModManagerGUI.exe a single time to create a “mods” directory.
After that, extract the Pierre Taki Restoration patches archive and copy the ” PierreTaki” file to the “mods” director. Then, repeat the process for any additional languages downloaded.
At this point, you have to start the game again and enjoy Pierre Taki’s performance.
