Reviewing some game mechanics to further exploit some fault glitches that players encounter – Tomb Raider: Anniversary

In this guide, we will be reviewing some game mechanics to further exploit some fault glitches that players encounter and cannot explain why it happens when they did it right in the first place and the discomfort of how the character feels during the movement. Luckily I have found some method to recognize the problem, address the issue and fix the problem in game without having to install programs or modding the game.

Chapter 1: Complications and Discomfort

This guide will help you understand some of the complications the character will face even though you inputted the right commands on time. What are these complications, glitches, and bugs you say? Well then, they are two distinct actions your character will do when “this” glitch is happening and its when you character will either fall really fast like faster than gravity when dropping from a ladder or dropping away backwards from a ladder even though you pressed crawl/roll to drop or you were using manual grab and let go of manual grab. I can’t prove that prolong time of running glitch in background will make worse timing to happen when inputting commands but I a*sure you that you can reset this problem which make your character feel more normal. Whenever this happens, there is a running glitch problem in the background that will cause your character to do actions that are not suppose to accomplish and in order to eliminate these glitch habits, I’ve figured out a way to eliminate these running background glitches. So far I’ve managed to find around four different ways to eliminate these bugs during gameplay and no need for programs or modding.

The two pictures below display the two instances it happens and is a way to diagnose the problem.

1st pic: Whenever she falls fast, it’s because of a certain move that can trigger this and cause glitches, later on i’ll explain.

2nd pic: Whenever this happens, it’s another glitch of a same kind that can ruin your climbing experience, this action is a big one, i’ll explain later.

Chapter 2: Glitch Provocations

There are two actions that cause these glitches and bugs that will make your character do wrong performances when inputting different commands and in return can ruin all sorts of obstacles you come by like jumping on balance poles or not be able to grab swinging poles when clearly jumping towards it. One of the actions that cause these glitches to act your characters movement differently is by falling off a platform that is almost impossible to grab on or hang on. What I mean is whenever your playing and you want to drop down to the ground and you couldn’t or didn’t want to grab on to that ledge then that is where the glitch happens and is always “running in the background.” This means you character will fall faster than normal gravity and prolong gameplay with this will cause your character to complete wrong tasks and late inputs to be happening. In order to prevent this, either hang from this ledge if its possible or just do a small jump from this higher platform.

The picture below illustrates when you can’t grab easily this ledge but you fell from that platform height causing this infinite faster than gravity speed drop glitch.

Another instance in which your character has triggered this running glitch and could cause your character to fly backwards when dropping down from a ladder or letting go when you set options ‘manual grab.’ Swimming in general is the other big problem that triggers the glitch and could cause the climbing experience in this game completely wrong from interpreting it. After going through a nice swim, jumping directly into climbing will have this glitch running in the background so there is no preventative task to be applied in this instance.

The picture below shows how just swimming on the surface alone will trigger this.

Chapter 3: Adjustments and Fixes

This chapter explains every technique that I figured out to fix this running glitch from happening in your climbing experience. So far I’ve manage to find four ways and don’t know if it’s possible to do it without any climbing or grapple but from stand alone itself.

The first way to fix this glitch is to simply drop from a hanging ledge to another lower ledge.

The second way is just dropping from a ledge but pressing crawl/roll button while hanging.

The third way is having to use manual grab and hang on from a ladder and then pressing crawl/roll button to let go and still having the grab button still pressed during the process. If your not using manual grab then it is harder since you have to press crawl/roll and then immediately press forward to hang on the ladder again; don’t know exactly if this is how it’s done since I’m always using manual grab.

The fourth way is to just simply use grapple in any way of attaching before you start climbing, this will insure you that you won’t have this glitch bother you ahead.

Conclusion

Now your probably wondering why is this important since some of the climbing done in the game will automatically fix it? Well some parts of the game may have you swim or simply drop down from a ledge, so you can spot this earlier and fix it before you start climbing in any possible way.

Some tricks to spot your character having this glitch is how they move faster from turning when jogging, then you know what to apply.

Some techniques I use to stay consistent in my climbing and also when doing time trials from accomplishing standing is moving the joystick slow then pressing jump, then pressing manual grab is a smooth succession. The way I remember it is smooth is fast, and fast is smooth. When grappling I make sure I jump at the zenith height and press and hold grapple throw to have the hook in place and adjust the camera as best as possible to the center of view. If using manual grab and want to drop from a ledge, just press and hold grab button, and then press crawl/roll. Another way is walk stealthy to the ledge until the character reacts while holding grab button and releasing joystick, but it’s riskier. When you want to reach a far wall ledge, make sure you run closest to the wall to insure the grab afterwards. If you want to reach a higher ledge when grappling, just wait for the zenith point. The best way I using swing poles is to follow the sound and press and hold the jump button in time.
