The Best Non Unique Items – Total War: WARHAMMER II

This is a list of the best item drops in the Warhammer 2 game.

It does not include Legendary Lord quest items.

It does include items from the High Elves’ Vaul’s Anvil Rite.

It also includes some unique items that are received through dilemmas.

The Best Items in the Game

This is a guide to some of the game’s best non-unique items.

These are random drops (or in the case of High Elves, Rite of Vaul Dilemma items too.)

Some items are generic and are available to more than one race. Some are unique to specific races.

I only have the racial lists up for a few races. These are the races that I tend to play a lot.

Generic Items not tied to any specific faction

These are items that can be acquired by more than one faction.

Ma*sa Moone’s Pride

This is arguably the best weapon in the game. (Sword of Khaine is more powerful, but has significant drawbacks as well.)

Ma*sa Moone’s Pride has crazy ap damage, and a very handy breath spell. The breath spell does not do a huge amount of damage, but is great for pushing your way through crowds. I’ve found this weapon to be particularly effective on Grom the Paunch.

Armor of Destiny

A nice set of armor that provides both ward save and physical resistance.

Tormentor Sword

This great weapon provides an area of effect snare, like a Net of Amontok. It’s perfect for keeping enemies pinned in place, whether to set them up for a spell bombardment or when you need to run away. The sword’s ability has a 90 second cool-down with unlimited uses.

The Talisman of Preservation

17% ward save makes this perhaps the best overall non-unique item in the game.

Helm of Discord

A great armor item that debuffs the enemy.

Potion of Toughness

Heals and provides defensive buffs. Great for staving off death.

Scroll of Stone

A nice bound bombardment spell.

Gem of Sunfire

Bound Flamestorm spell and 30% fire resistance for the entire army.

Obsidian Blade

Not quite as amazing as Ma*sa Moone’s Pride, but still a terrific weapon.

Spirit Sword

Another good weapon

Seed of Rebirth

Provides regeneration in combat.

High Elf Specific Items

Moranion’s Wayshard

This item is extremely useful for keeping mages and other squishy characters hidden from the enemy.

Ring Of Corin

Provides a crazy buff to armor piercing damage. One of the best items in the game for damage dealers. Also a bound direct damage spell.

Khaine’s Ring of Fury

Bound spell that summons a firey phoenix that burns enemies in a long swath of destruction.

Amplifier

A great boost to Winds of Magic and spell casting. This is a random drop in the Imrik campaign that you can get from defeating a (non-unique) dragon.

Diamond Guardian Phoenix

A random reward from the Invocation of Vaul rite. Other versions of this Guardian Phoenix (Ruby and Sapphire) provide fire and magic protection.

Emerald Collar

Another Invocation of Vaul reward. This regeneration stacks with normal regeneration, doubling your ability to heal while in combat.

Greenskin Specific Items

Armor of Gork

The charge bonus on this armor is particularly good for Grom, who spends most of his battles charging into things.

Vampire Coast Specific Items

Black Buckthorn’s Map

Move faster on campaign. Vanguard deployment.

Kraken Tusk

Melee buffs and a nice bound spell

Pyrotechnic Compound

Excellent buffs for a ranged lord of hero.

Skaven Items

Old Powder Keg

Obtained from a dilemma.

Lizardmen Specific Items

Blade of Revered Tzunki

Decent armor piercing weapon.

Curse Charm of Tepok

This is an interesting weapon that interferes with an enemy spellcaster’s magic casting.

Good for a mage on a flying mount.

Divine Plaque of Protection

Provides research rate bonus and some protection bonuses.

Wood Elf Items

Bow of Loren

Sadly, this item is bugged. After you obtain it, it disappears.

I’ve acquired it several times (from searching ruins) and it vanishes.

Too bad, because it looks like an excellent weapon, particularly for the Sisters of Twilight.

Witstealer Sword

This is an item received from a dilemma.

The “discouraged” effect is a -16 leadership debuff. This is great for stacking with the Woodelf “blight of terrors” trait and the shadow magic “withering” spell. You can cause sections of the enemy line to rout from fear.
