This is a reference for all obtainable items in 3000th Duel. Since there is an achievement for registering all items in the Archive, this guide features some additional tips/things-to-know that I think could be useful to others that are hoping to get this achievement.

Introduction

Naturally, this list will include items that are related to story progression. Furthermore, there are several items that I believe would benefit from having a more detailed entry (whether it is its description or method of collection).


At the time of writing, there is no wiki that contains information about the items that can be found in game. While trying to get the Adventurer achievement, I had a hard time trying to find some items (“I thought I checked everything. What did I miss? Guess I have to make another trip around the entire map…”), so hopefully this guide could be a helpful reference for anyone who needs it.

In addition, I’d like to mention an awesome guide by Grizzly listing the Monster Archive. This was very helpful for tracking down the last few drops I needed to complete the Items Archive. Grizzly’s guide was a partial inspiration for this guide as I thought it would be nice to have a complete reference for the Archive.

Overview

I will split the items into six categories as in the game: ConsumablesUpgrade MaterialsKey ItemsWeaponsOccults, and Accessories. Within each category, I will list items in the order they appear in game.

Some categories had to be split into multiple sections because of what seems to be a limit set by Steam on how much information can be put into one section. I hope you can excuse this minor inconvenience.

There are no items in the game that are missable. If you accidentally forgot to open one chest, you can always open it again after starting a New Game+. From what I’ve seen, it seems like the content of each chest is constant. Note that to get all items, it is necessary to beat the game four times (i.e. beat the game once, and then beat New Game+ three additional times). This is because:

  1. There are certain items that only spawn starting with the n-th New Game+.
  2. In each run of the game (whether it is New Game+ or not), you can only choose one of four weapons. This choice effectively locks out the other three, so it is necessary to start a New Game+ to retrieve the others. I’ll discuss this further in the Weapons section.

From this point on, I will refer to the different instances of the game using the game’s nomenclature: 3000th Journey (starting a fresh save), 3001st Journey (first New Game+), 3002nd Journey (second New Game+), etc.

Starting the 3001st Journey, new gold-colored chests will start to spawn on the map in addition to the chests from the 3000th Journey. I will refer to these chests as “ornate chests” to help distinguish them from the standard chests.

Sometimes, these chests take the position of the standard chest found in the 3000th Journey. However, the contents of the ornate chest include everything that was in the original chest in addition to several new items.

One note about enemy drops:

Boss drops seem to be guaranteed. I am not sure what the drop rates are for items, weapons, accessories, and occults from common enemies other than the fact that they are pretty low.

Useful Items

There are several items that you may want to prioritize getting for your item hunt.

  • Golden BeltThis item increases the chance that you will pick up an enemy’s accessory.
  • Slayer’s BeltThis item increases the chance that you will pick up an enemy’s weapon.
  • Satan’s BeltThis item increases the chance that you will retrieve an enemy’s occult.
  • Merchant’s/Dwarf’s Return StoneThis item is just for quality of life as it automatically teleports you to the respective merchant in the game (both merchants also have a warp room very close by). For example, if you are in the Forest of No Return, this item could save you from having walking a long distance to either the Tower of Unknown Age or the Stone Grave since there is no warp room in the forest. However, you must encounter the merchant first as these items do not carry over from the previous journey.

Also, Ctrl+F works on Steam, which is probably the easiest and quickest method to search for the item that you are looking for.

Weapons IV

“You Can Only Pick One” Weapons (Spoiler Warning)

The following 4 weapon lines are special in that only one of them can be collected per journey.

  1. Heart of GreedThis weapon can be immediately collected by triggering the bad ending. The bad ending is triggered by defeating the One Who Swallowed the Heart of Greed without equipping the Goggles of Sight.If the One Who Swallowed the Heart of Greed is defeated with the Goggles of Sight equipped, the story continues to progress and next three Genesis weapons become available.
  2. Genesis Sword lineCollection of the Genesis Sword locks out the Genesis Broadsword and Genesis Spear lines in the same journey because only one Synchronous Scripture can be obtained per journey.
  3. Genesis Broadsword lineCollection of the Genesis Broadsword locks out the Genesis Sword and Genesis Spear lines in the same journey because only one Synchronous Scripture can be obtained per journey.
  4. Genesis Spear lineCollection of the Genesis Spear locks out the Genesis Sword and Genesis Broadsword lines in the same journey because only one Synchronous Scripture can be obtained per journey.

 

Short Genesis Weapon Guide (Spoiler Warning)

With the exception of the location of the Genesis weapon, the procedure is exactly the same for all Genesis weapons.

  1. Play through the base game. Ensure that the One Who Swallowed the Heart of Greed is defeated with the Goggles of Sight equipped so that the bad ending is not triggered. Upon defeating the One Who Swallowed the Heart of Greed, you will automatically receive one Genesis Iron Ore.
  2. Continue playing through The Wise Ones DLC. After defeating the Protector of the Shrine in the Shrine of the Wise, continue down the hallway and you will be in the shrine room. Talk to the slate in the center of the shrine and inspect both sides.
  3. Inspect both visions from the past and future. Upon completion, you will receive one Synchronous Scripture.
  4. Travel to the time field that houses the desired Genesis Weapon. Double-check that you are at the correct place as you do not want to make a mistake. The Synchronous Scripture is a single-use consumable item. Furthermore, this game auto-saves very often, so I cannot guarantee that a save-quit will reverse a mistake here.Locations:

    • Genesis Broadsword: Road of the Burning Deep
    • Genesis Spear: Abyss
  5. Use the Synchronous Scripture. This allows you to travel to the past and collect the Genesis Weapon.If you want to upgrade your Genesis weapon, do not do so yet. The upgrades will not carry over, so it is best to wait until the final form of the Genesis weapon has been obtained.
  6. Talk to the blacksmith dwarf in the Road of the Burning Deep. With the Genesis weapon and Genesis Iron Ore, the blacksmith dwarf will upgrade your Genesis weapon into Sword/Broadsword/Spear of Light.Again, don’t upgrade yet!
  7. This is more of a warning for those who have already played through the DLC in a previous journey, but be absolutely sure you have the correct weapon equipped. I have not tested (and am afraid to test since I don’t want to play through an entire New Game+ again because of a mistake here), but I cannot guarantee you can reverse a mistake if you hit the moon with a Weapon of Light that you got from a previous journey.Travel to the One Who Swallowed the Heart of Greed boss room at the top of the Tower of Karma. Using your newly acquired Weapon of Light, destroy the moon (yes, the one that looks like a part of the background). Once the moon is destroyed, the weapon will automatically lose its light and convert to its final form Weapon of Light: Cool Word.

    At this point, you can upgrade your weapon in the Tower of Unknown Age.

Accessories V: Other

Attempt at Deriving the Golden Hoof and Golden Saddle ATK Formulas

When I started experimenting, I was at 147.8% map completion at the end of my 3003rd Journey. The weapon I had equipped was Broadsword of Light: Crusher. I also had 99 levels put into STR.

It seems like the ATK bonus depends on the characters current ATK as well. Equipping different rings to change my ATK changes the ATK amount that the Golden Hoof/Golden Saddle gives. The next table shows a few values that I’ve tried (most likely not enough to get a really accurate value, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ).

So, taking the average values, it seems like the Golden Hoof and Golden Saddle increases your ATK by approximately 12.98% and 19.18% of your current ATK at max, respectively.

Unfortunately, I haven’t tracked the ATK increase amount as I have gone through the game increasing my map completion percentage. I am making the a*sumption that the relationship between map completion percentage and the “% of current ATK” value is linear.

Also, I noticed that when I started another New Game+, the Golden Hoof/Golden Saddle gave ATK +1 (there is the single tile filled in on the map when spawning in the Forest of Old Memories). This leads me to believe that the ceiling function is applied to the result of the computation since all visible stat values in this game are whole numbers.

Putting everything together:

Golden Hoof ATK = ceil( Current ATK * (0.1298 * min(% Map Completion, 100) / 100) )

Golden Saddle ATK = ceil( Current ATK * (0.1918 * % Map Completion / 147.8) )

Miscellaneous

I haven’t taken serious notes for this guide until near the end of my 3002nd Journey, so there may be some incorrect information in the guide.

There are also some numbers that I am unsure of. For example, I do not remember what the stat values were for the base Contract of Fireball occult (as soon as I got it, I upgraded it to +5 and realized I didn’t note down the base values).
